Something happened today and I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally need to vent out my frustrations here!!!!!!!!! I felt that ALL of you should read about this and share my grievances!!!!!!!!
I switched on my TV as per normal today (my SCV box is always turned on though..) and was flipping through the MENU for the shows that I recorded.. as I was trying to play one of them, SCV totally HANGED on me! Hence, I asked my Darling to give Starhub SCV a call..
According to the technician Goh (that's his name..), he wanted us to switch off the box and turned it back on again.. we did as told and now, it's even worst! ALL the shows that I recorded from 17 to 24 Oct were ALL GONE! TRASHED! DELETED! PERMANENTLY!!! They were still there just now, but after listening to his intructions, my data were all gone!
If you were me, who would you hold responsible?? The best part is, when I questioned him regarding this, he told me a power reset of the box will not cause any data loss in the box. Well, MAYBE. Then how do you explain my loss of data RIGHT AFTER you asked me to reset the damn box??! He's very smart you know? I'm actually beginning to think that STARHUB employees were ALL taught TAIJI skills during training! They really know how to push the blame to others lor! First, he wanted to push the blame to me, saying I must have accidentally pressed DELETE! When I insisted I couldn't have 'cos the box already "hanged on me" so how am I suppose to press delete?? He then pushed the blame to THOMSON, who, by the way, is the manufacturer of the SCV box, saying it's probably hardware problems.
I actually experienced the same thing few months ago.. being the first time, I was pretty cool and calm about it and regarded it as really the manufacturer's fault.. sent it for repair in person, almost willingly.. like I mentioned earlier, it was the first time! And first times are always easier to forgive and accept.. isn't it?
But this time round, it's the SECOND TIME! And the technicians are getting from BAD to WORST!!!!!!!!!! I asked him, so after I sent my SCV box for repair, is Starhub going to pay for the damages??? Immediately he replied, NO! 'Cos it's not covered under warranty anymore.. and then he proceeds to provide me with an "alternative" solution which is, to rent a Digital Box from them at $8.00/mth OR get the NORMAL non-recordable box at no extra charge! Clever right they all? Go one big round to shut me up! HELLO!!!!!!! I didn't join the HUBBER'S club for nothing ok!
I asked him, if I were to rent the box at $8 from Starhub monthly, then isn't it unfair to me being a Hubber club member?? I had Maxonline, SCV & Mobile lines with you and you can't even give me some sort of privilege! Then I should have just sticked to Singtel! At least when something happens, they'll be glad to waive off certain charges IF NOT, refund me! And then he said, I get discounts from my monthly bills, so how can I say it's unfair to me? HELLOOOO MR BLOOD_SUCKER! FYI, every month, I only get a total of $9.10 discount from my bill ok! So if I were to rent a SCV box from STARHUB at $8/mth, then isn't it equivalent to I won't be enjoying any discounts at all?
JUST because the stupid technician asked us to reset the power supply, our data were lost! And he refused to take responsibility in it and failed to give us a solution that will work for both parties! STARHUB SHOULD SO SACK PEOPLE LIKE HIM! If you can't f*cking make any major decision, pass my call to your manager lah! Let me complain directly to him! He's such an asshole lor! If only you could hear how aloof his voice sounds over the phone! Can really slap him upside down ok!
I'm so angry now!!! An anger that's beyond words to describe... knowing that WE, as a service SUBSRIBER (a LOYAL ONE somemore!), are unable to get any form of well-deserved compensation OR AT LEAST, a satisfactory answer or solution from STARHUB, so as to make us feel safe knowing that, no matter what happen, we are covered! Is there really no justice now in Singapore anymore???
If you're reading this, and if you have a SCV Digital Box at home too, let me tell you, forget about complaining to STARHUB if anything goes wrong with your box in future 'cos they're not gonna do anything about it! TRUST ME! In the end, you just need to PAY, PAY & PAY for all damages lor!
Discounts or not, I can tell you, STARHUB HUBBER'S CLUB is USELESS! Besides tricking you into believing that their products are the best and most reliable, they are really good in shunting responsiblities too! Eventually, it's ALWAYS the SUBSCRIBERS who lose out and PAY one lah... if STARHUB is really sooooooooooo confident in their Digital Box, why do you think they only dare to provide a 1 year warranty??
Anyway...... this incident is not gonna stop me from catching my show at 5.15pm!
Watched The Coffin (as mentioned in yest's entry..) and frankly speaking, only a handful of scenes were scary.. and the storyline isn't as composed and unique as I thought of it.. I expected perhaps some twists in the story or such but right from the beginning, you can almost predict what's gonna happen next..

After the movie, went NTUC to get my food supplies for my next trip to Seoul & Vancouver as well as ingredients for dinner later on 'cos Darling is gonna cook for me.. Awwwww.... so sweet right?? Don't you just love guys who can cook?? ^ ^
Still gotta pack my luggages.. Seoul is gonna be cold, but bearable I guess at this time of the year.. Vancouver though, I'm not too sure about that 'cos Weather Forecasts predicts that it's temperature is gonna be ranging from lowest 3 - highest 14 deg celsius.. it's my first time to Vancouver, Canada so I'm really excited about it!
Can't wait to eat my fav Saba fish (aka Mackerel) in Seoul, Korea!!!!
